This isn’t a rental — it’s our family’s home on the Big Island, and we built this little corner of the Kohala Coast to be the kind of place you arrive at wound-up and leave unspooled.
A short hop from the West Coast, an easy unwind once you’re here: solar-warm showers, salt on your skin, fruit off the tree, and a lanai made for doing absolutely nothing. Bring your people, leave the rush at the airport.
Ways to unwind
Yoga at sunrise
Roll a mat out on the lanai and greet the sunrise as it climbs over the volcano — first light on the observatories up top. Quiet, warm, yours.
Outrigger paddling
Hut and hoe out of A-Bay with the Waikoloa Canoe Club — about 20 minutes down to the water.
SUP & snorkel
Calm mornings, clear water, reefs and honu just offshore. Boards and snorkel gear wait in the garage.
Beach chill
Hapuna, Mauʻumae, Beach 69 — white sand and warm surf. Chairs and coolers ready for you.
Sunset lanai
Pour something cold and watch Maui glow gold across the channel as the day lets go.
Slow mornings
Coffee, birdsong, the fountain’s waterfall, singing wind chimes, nowhere to be. The whole point of the place.
Mornings on the front lanai
Banana leaves and palms lean in close, the little fountain murmurs in the corner, and a row of wind chimes catches the Waikoloa trades — that soft, constant song the island hums all day long.
Coffee in hand, bare feet on warm stone, nothing on the calendar. This is the spot where you feel your shoulders drop and remember how to do nothing at all. Stay a while.

Fly into Kona (KOA) — we’re about 45 minutes north. Grab a Turo or a corporate rental car, breeze up to da Costco, and roll up to the ridge to Awamoa Place.
